This 2012 City of Petra Silver coin was issued by the Government of Isle O Man. It encapsulates the sand from the site where the Lost City of Petra was identified. The city if Petra of historical significance was rediscovered two hundred years ago in 1812. Petra was a city in Jordan, established around 6th Century BC that was famous for its rock cut architecture and water system. The unique silver coin features the façade of this Treasury building finished in stunning high relief.
